Dear Parents,
Welcome to the 2015-2016 school year at St. Raphael Pre-K.  I am very excited to be your child’s teacher and look forward to an enriching and rewarding school year.  My objectives this year are to help better prepare your child for kindergarten emotionally, socially, and academically in an environment that is positive and nurturing.
We will focus on one letter of the alphabet per week. In addition to our letter of the week, your children will also practice:
  • Writing and recognition of capital and lower case letters
  • Shape, color, and number recognition
  • Spelling and writing names
  • Phonics
  • Patterns and sequencing
  • Problem solving
  • Development of fine motor skills
I will conduct Kindergarten assessments twice a year to keep track of your child’s progress.  This will also give you a chance to see what skills your child could benefit from working on at home as well as in school. Your child will have his/her own cubby.  Please make sure that all your child’s belongings fit into their cubby.  Also, please be sure to provide a labeled extra set of clothes to keep in case of an accident or spill. I am looking forward to working with your child and excited to be a part of his/her growth and development.  Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns you may have throughout the school year.

Let’s work together to make this year full of fun, learning, and personal growth for your child!
